The Mothers' Club

Mothers's Club is an intiative of Kelly Whitty, a 23 year old Canadian Volunteer/Intern. She started working closely with the mothers of the 12 sponsored kids residing in BLISS.

Kelly, being an intern at the City Social Welfare Department Office took initiative of networking with them for the social preparation of the 12 mothers with the assistance of VFV.

Eventually as time passed, there were other mothers expressing their interest in joining the club. With this, the Bayanihan Center was introduced by the City Cooperative Office.

From time to time, they involved themselves with other activities organized by the center and community aside from their regular activities. Most often they volunteer in the preparation of snacks or dinner for other center activities. They also set-up booths whenever there is an outdoor activity, selling goods that they learned during their session like lumpia, fishball, papaya jam etc.

At present the club has a total of 21 members, mostly residents of BLISS. Which regularly meet every Thursday in the afternoon.
