How it started...

In 2005, thanks to a kind anonymous donation of 50,000 PHP we were able to construct a new simple house for Delia Mardo and her five children.

Delia is widowed and survives from month to month on minimal support from her children. Her previous home was dilapidated and unlivable. The tin roof leaked so much that a water pool had grown in the mud floor, the result was an unhealthy and dangerous situation for her children.

Over the next five years, thanks to international donors we were able to construct eight more houses for children who are the recipients of our child sponsorship program

What does it cost?

You can build a home in the Philippines for US$1000! This is a great project for a philanthropy or club donation. Unlike many of our projects which involve nurturing and education, the Build a Home Project has instant results. A poor family is given a better life in just a couple of weeks.

How Can You Help?

To major resources are required for the continuation of this project, the first is donations; even small donations can go a long way here in the Philippines and will allow us to make much needed to repairs to many homes here in our local community. The second resource we need is volunteers, especially those who would opt to volunteer on our new placement for 2010, the community build project which works not only with our Build-A-Home project, but also our Build-A-School and other outreach programs.
