Volunteer for the Visayans (VFV) is very proud to announce the appointment of Marvin Malquisto as the new Director of VFV. Marvin Malquisto brings with him a commitment to further the existing mission of VFV while increasing the scope of our programs.

Marvin is not new to VFV. He has designed and managed the construction of the playground at Bliss, two of the houses in Santa Fe, the build a home project in Bliss, the construction projects at Tacloban and Talipapa. In addition to these impressive accomplishments Marvin has participated in the establishment of the media center at Tanauan and has acted as a big brother (kuya) for a sponsored child since the program's inception. His background as an engineer equips him with a project oriented perspective of management and a practical approach to challenges. He is thorough, hard working, organized, and dedicated to the people in our community.

VFV has gone from three volunteers 14 years ago to the largest organization of its kind in Leyte today. With nearly 75 sponsored children, several school sponsorships, several medical relief clinics each year, a community center, over 200 international volunteers each year, several build a home projects and countless other local support projects VFV is growing exponentially. The growth and the accompanying challenges VFV will face in the coming years requires a talent like Marvin. We are so happy to welcome you Marvin. Thanks and Good luck!

Sincerely,

Jason Coppage and Troy Peden
