International Volunteers Paint Bliss Playground

by Ethel Mae Arce
VFV Assistant Director

To offer or bestow voluntarily, without solicitation or compulsion is the main goal of the international volunteers who come to visit the Philippines or any other developing countries. And to cater the current need of the Bliss community, to repaint the entrance arch and the playground (former projects of the VFV in the community), our volunteers, despite their hectic schedules at their placements, still imparted their time for this community service.

Sophie Maucort, Allan Andu–Rivera, Daniel Staples, Stephane Pham, Kristin MacDougall, Alvin Rivera, Mengche Tsai, Loralei Bingamon and Marc Loresto, who came from different parts of the world, voluntarily do the mixing of paints and repainting of the playground and the entrance arch on November 28 to 30 of last year. Some of them repainted the mural at the entrance of the VFV office.

All in all, the project was a success with everyone's help, the VFV staff, and the volunteers, local and international. Finally, all of us are content in knowing that the people of the community would appreciate the small things VFV and the volunteers are doing for them to change their way of living even in just a small way.
