Fathers' Club

by Helena Claire F. Arong
Center Coordinator

Patience truly is a virtue. Rarely in a community that a club or organization solely for the Tatay/s – the term used to refer to the father or daddy in the Philippines, exists. After the third attempt of inviting them to form a Father's Club, we got a positive response. Last November 20, 2005 the Tatays decided that its time for them to shine just like the Mothers' Club. On the second meeting the Tatays made a short list of the possible activities they intend to get involved in. At present the Tatays are preparing a vacant lot within Cluster 2 for communal gardening. They plan to set up a mini–Talipapa after their first harvest to which the income will serve as their fund.
